In the late Onin period (1467) there were two Takada smiths that are known, Sadayuki and Shizunori.
Old Takada Koto work is very good and of much higher quality than the avarege shinto period workmanship.
This is a fine example of a koto period bungo takada katana.
This sword has a very nice hada that is very tightly forged and well made itame mixed with some mokume.
The hamon is a very elegant suguha basically niedeki.
The overall shape and workmanship is very classy and subdued.
The sword is in a fine polish and is flawless.
This katana is extremely healthy for a sword 537 years old.
PAPERS
Older NTHK KANTEISHO papers issued by Kentaro Yoshikawa.
This sword comes in an old shirasaya that is in excellent condition with a gold washed habaki.
