    This is a Japanese tanto in shirosaya mountings.   The blade is signed "Iga 伊賀, Nihon kitae 日本鍛 with Kiku mon", "

    shape, Edo period ca.1650 era made blade.   The blade is in new polish, no rust, no stain and in mint condition.    Temper line is wavy
    gunome
    temper and deep temper at the point.  Forging grain is tight
    itame-hada
    , no opening, no blister and no forging flaws.    There is no nick, no bend, no crack and cutting edge is sharp.    The blade is rested in ho-wood
    shirosaya
    mountings with gold foiled
