  • Condition: Nice blade with signed tang. Don't know what it says. Scabbard in good shape and grip tight and all there. Not a Japanese sword expert but have been told it is a Chinese copy. Blade is overall nice, could use a little care.

    Description

    I am not a Japanese sword person so I can only share what I do know or suspect.  I believe this to have been made about 50 years ago or maybe WWII era.  The tang is marked but I cannot read it.  The grip parts all fit well and appear to be good representative of the Samurai style swords I have seen.  I tried to take pictures of the blade hamon (?) lines and the overall condition.  There are a couple rust like spots near the end of the blade.  I do not know how to polish these so, that is left alone.  Blade is strong, thick and 28 1/2 inches long not counting the tang.  The handle is 11 inches long and overall it is 39 1/2 inches long.  Check the photos and determine if this is for you.  Could be  a great wall hanger, a sword for the martial arts student, or a sleeper.  I got it with a bunch of other items and need to move it.  NO RETURNS on this but I am pricing it low enough that it should be worth just parts to someone!
    This sold last week but the buyer after researching it decided it was a Chinese copy.  I am taking his word for it.  It is a nice one but that is what he said.  I refunded his money and am relisting it.  Be sure you look at the photos and bid accordingly.
