    Description

My 1968 Yamaha DT-1 Enduro is being offered totally restored by a professional Japanese motorcycle specialist. He has restored 3 Kawasaki Z1 motorcycles for me and does exceptional work.
The history of this motorcycle is quite unique. My father bought this motorcycle new for my mother, who drove it for 3,625 miles. She stopped riding the bike and it has been stored in a heated garage ever since. I inherited it from my father and then stored it for another 15 years. Because it had been sitting for so many years, I decided to totally restore the bike. I had my motorcycle specialist take the whole motorcycle apart and restore it as if I were going to keep it.
We replaced the wire harness, all the engine bearings, seals, rebuilt the oil injection pump, bought all new cables, had the frame powder coated, had the tank, fenders, chain guard, headlight and ears painted. There was no need to plate any bolts or rims, for the plating was as new. This bike never saw the dirt. Being stored inside for all of its life, the condition of everything was almost as new.
We replaced the coils, magneto to make sure there would not be any electrical problems for many years. The engine barrel and piston were within tolerances and didn't need replacing. With the original bore and piston, we honed the barrel and installed new rings.
The gauges are mint original and needed no attention. The original miles indicated are 3,625. These are the correct miles and part of a true time capsule. The tool kit is as new and unused. I have the mint original owners manual to go along with the sale. I also have the original receipts and original bill of sale. The bike was bought new in Southern California and now is titled in the state of Idaho.
This Yamaha belongs in a museum because it is a true time capsule and mint. This is the first year for the DT-1 Enduro and the most collectable. This is a true one owner bike and well worth your consideration. The knobby tires are the origianl tires that came with the bike. For static display I kept the original tires on the bike. If you intend to ride the bike I would suggest installing new tires.
Bid with confidence knowing you will be put in touch with the restorer to answer any questions you might want to ask him. I will store the bike for as long as needed to get it shipped to you. The buyer pays all shipping costs to his location.
Bid with confidenced and add this DT-1 Enduro to your collection. Most of these bikes were trashed in the dirt and it is getting harder to find a mint 1968 Yamaha DT-1 Enduro in any condition.
